DESCRIPTION: UVA Sweden U80 Internal Grinder
UVA high precision ID grinders are made in Sweden. They are found within the automotive and aviation industry as well as specialized applications in areas of transmission, engines, and hydraulics. This machine type usually grinds a bore (ID) sizes 4.000 mm to 12.000 mm and Seat angles 15° – 130° or a combination thereof. Tolerances are typically in the micron (0.001mm) range. Surface finishes are 0.2RA or better.

Year build 1986 and refurbished 2019-today.
CNC Controller:
UVA-tronic 1 – the control unit is obsolete but functional. CNC control upgrades are available. KHC can assist if the customer chooses.
Control Cabinet: The cabinet includes certified/repaired servo drives and TVM unit. All circuit boards are working. Spare parts are available for purchase. The CPU battery may be low on voltage.
Control voltages: 5 Vdc, 12 Vdc, 24 Vdc, 24 Vac, 110/220 Vac.
Servo Driven Tables with Linear and circular interpolation, AC servo motors. Position accuracy: 1 micron; with upgraded control 0.1 micron.
Machine Base NMA type layout:
(1) UVA 180deg Index unit – requires rebuild.
(2) Repaired/new workhead spindle motors.
(1) new “Spindel Electronic”, High frequency (HF) drive for grinding spindles.
(2) 100,000-RPM HF ID High Frequency (HF) Grinding Spindles – repaired/certified.
(4) UVA precision slides (two 250mm table and two 50mm top slides). All precision slides are either rebuilt or verified to mfg. standard.
Other:
All subcomponents like pneumatic cabinet and lubrication units are clean and functional.

Grinding Coolant tank is available.
The machine is not available for demonstration at its current state.
If a UVA control upgrade is purchased, new servo motors, adapters and cables, control cabinet and cable tunnel are provided – cost basis about $300k. A new pneumatic cabinet should be included.
