Mobile Soil Remediation System
Enviro-Klean KM-4(2), Serial No. 7051
Overview
The asset for sale is a field tested mobile soil remediation plant designed to process and neutralize hydrocarbon contaminated soils on site. It was built in 2005 by Enviro-Klean Remediation Group Inc. and the equipment is currently on location in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada.
This plant can be considered "as new" and has been operated for demonstration purposes, performance ratings and regulatory testing only.
Timeline Asset Services Ltd. (TAS) has been engaged by the Secured Lender to execute a sale of this equipment in compliance with the Personal Property Security Act (BC). This Act requires that certain procedures be followed in the execution of this sale and also allows for specific redemption rights by Enviro-Klean Remediation Group Inc.--the Borrower. This equipment will be sold "as is, where is". We recommend that interested parties do their own due diligence and arrange for a viewing of the equipment if they deem necessary. TAS will make every effort to provide additional information if it becomes available, however we do not hold ourselves out to be experts in soil remediation equipment.
Asset Description
The Enviro-Klean KM-4(2) is a patented high temperature thermal desorption system for removing hydrocarbon contaminants from the soil.
This completely mobile soil remediation system is mounted on two highway-legal trailers: the processing equipment on a low-bed trailer and the feed/discharge system on a separate trailer. The system can be easily moved from site-to-site and set up in less than a day. Its design and layout allows the KM-4(2) to operate in very restricted areas and process material right on-site.
Equipment List (taken from security agreement):
A Thermal Trailer: 16.0m L x 2.5m W x 4.0m H, 34,000kg
- Baghouse: High temperature (250 C) filter bags mounted in a steel housing. Air exits to atmosphere through a testing stack from the baghouse. Bags are pulsejet cleaned by air supply via controlled system mounted at the top of the baghouse.
- Electrical Generator: Supplies operating 3-phase electrical power to energize all controls, motors, variable speed drives, gear boxes, auxiliary power supplies, fans (blowers), rectifiers, voltage reducers and other electrical components for the entire system. Generator is 480V, 60HZ and can be bypassed when grid power is used.
- Compressor: Supplies air for cleaning bags, fire eyes and for operation of air tools. Piping and water/oil dropout system included.
- Heat Exchanger: Mounted between the thermal oxidizer and the baghouse to reduce the temperature of the air stream entering the baghouse. Operated by external air supply.
- Induction Fan: Sized to develop the required airflow for the processing system.
- Ducting: Both permanent and removable ducting for the conveyance of air as required.
- Control House: Solid-state, twin-monitor Siemens control system operates all electrical equipment on both trailers and optional components. Air-conditioned for protection of the equipment and the comfort of the operator. Control house contains all variable frequency drives, and is cable-connected to both the genset and thermal remediation system.
- Electrical: All rectifiers, converters, voltage reducers and other operating electrical equipment.
- Processor: Patented and proprietary soil processor complete with screw conveyors (stainless steel), gearboxes and bearings. Soft refractory lined to control processor skin temperature. Soil feed hopper and proprietary air seal at the soil intake and exit. Processor is heated with a 10-million kJ/hour gas/oil burner. Soil discharge pugmill has a water spray system for dust control.
- Thermal Oxidizer: Proprietary designed to provide up to 2.0-second residence time for gasses. Soft refractory lined to provide a safe skin temperature. Thermal oxidizer is heated with a 15-million kJ/hour gas burner.
- In-feed Hopper: Receives soil from the feed conveyor. The hopper has a soil seal to prevent air intake and escape during operation.
- Preheater: Proprietary heat recapture system utilizes flue gas from the thermal oxidizer to indirectly preheat in-feed soil supply.
B Feed Trailer: 16.0m L x 2.5m W x 4.0m H, 16,000kg
- Dump Hopper: Complete with a loader remote-controlled 10cm grizzly to remove large particles such as rocks and wood pieces. Soil hopper accommodates 3 cubic metres of material. A cross-belt below the hopper carries a controlled soil volume to the trommel screen.
- Trommel Screen: A cylindrical screen to remove any particles or rocks over 5cm in diameter. These particles drop off the end of the trommel and the screened soil falls onto the feed conveyor. Trommel is designed to help remove the excess moisture from the soil and save on fuel.
- Feed Conveyor Belt: Approximately 60cm in width, this conveyor carries the soil to the in-feed hopper. The feed conveyor folds for transport.
- Discharge Conveyor: Approximately 8m L x 75cm W and conveys the cleaned soil to stacking pile. This conveyor is removed and set in place prior to operation and then stored on the feed trailer for shipping to the next location. All conveyors and equipment on the feed are powered and controlled from the control house.
C Miscellaneous Equipment:
- Operating Manuals: [As this unit has never been sold, Enviro-Klean Remediation Group Inc. has yet to complete these manuals. However, TAS understands they have been instructed to provide a complete list of all operating procedures consistent with training.]
All manufactured equipment is painted in high temperature paint where required, or heavy duty industrial paint in non-heated areas. Components not manufactured by Enviro-Klean such as motors, gearboxes and fans may be left with their factory paint where applicable.
