If you are unable to join us in person at the Westin Seattle for the night of the Auction, you may join the live auction bidding online here at www.bidspotter.com. Bidspotter provides viewers with real-time, interactive bidding during Pilchuck’s Live Auction. Online viewers can bid live against auction attendees and other online bidders or submit absentee bids. An on-line Auction preview will be available at www.bidspotter.com in early October.

Bidding On-line

Interested participants may register to bid for Live Auction items only through Pilchuck Glass School’s Internet auction partner, BidSpotter, Inc.  You must register with BidSpotter directly.  You will receive confirmation, on-line identification, and Live Auction bidding instructions from www.bidspotter.com.

Live Auction Bidding

Participants previously registered with and approved by BidSpotter may link to the Live Auction portion of the auction through BidSpotter’s webcast and place bids against other Internet bidders as well as live bidders.  Bidding activity will be displayed on individual computers through BidSpotter’s website.

Successful On-Line Bidding

All items won by Internet bidders will be shown with the hammer price and Internet bidder user name at BidSpotter’s website.  Winning Internet bidders will receive an e-mail from BidSpotter confirming their successful bids on the night of the auction.

Payment for Successful On-Line Bids

Winning Internet bidders must pay Pilchuck Glass School directly for any items won.  Cash, personal checks, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express only will be accepted as payment.  If Internet bidders wish to pay for and pick-up their items on the night of the event, they must arrive at the auction location to arrange for payment and pick-up Otherwise, payment must be made to Pilchuck Glass School within five (5) business days following the auction. Shipment

All purchases are final; no exchanges or refunds will be allowed.  Arrangements for shipping must be made during the evening of the auction.  The winning on-line bidder must make arrangements for either pick up from the premises or shipment of the piece on the night of the auction.  Items not picked up by the winning bidder will be shipped to the purchaser at the purchaser’s expense.  The auction site is:

Internet bidders outside the Seattle area or unable to pick up artwork the night of the auction are encouraged to inquire in advance about shipping.  Pilchuck has arranged for an outside shipping vendor to make their services available during the auction evening.   United Postal Service (UPS) will provide premium packing and shipping for your special purchases.  You may contact the shipper in advance at:

Please note that once you have made arrangements with the shipping vendor, Pilchuck Glass School is not responsible for your piece and cannot, by shipping company regulations, intervene on your behalf with the shipper or carrier.  You must resolve any concerns regarding art work damaged or lost during shipping by contacting the shipping vendor directly.

Sales Tax and Deductibility

No sales tax will be charged as all items have been donated to Pilchuck Glass School for a charitable auction, the proceeds from which benefit the school.  Pilchuck Glass School is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  If the price you pay for a piece exceeds the fair market value of the piece as stated in the auction catalog, the excess portion of the price may be deductible as a charitable contribution.  Please consult with your tax advisor or preparer for details.

General Rules and Information

Pilchuck Glass School reserves the right to add or withdraw items to or from the auction without notice.  Pilchuck Glass School has attempted to describe and catalog all items accurately, but all items are offered “as is, where is.”  Pilchuck neither warrants nor represents, and in no event shall be responsible for, the correctness of the descriptions, genuineness, authorship, provenance or condition of the items.  No statement made in this catalog, orally at the auction, or elsewhere shall be deemed such a warranty, representation or assumption of liability.  The values listed are estimates of fair market value.  Items have not been appraised.

Each bidder assumes all risks and hazards related to the auction and items obtained at the auction.  Each bidder agrees to hold harmless from any liability arising there from Pilchuck Glass School, its elected and appointed officials, members and employees, the auctioneer, the auction company and its agents and employees, the event organizers, sponsors and or volunteers connected with the auction.  All items purchased become the property of the successful bidder once that bidder is acknowledged by the auctioneer and on completion of checkout.
